Tornado Damage  -  April 7, 2006

Around 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon of April 7, 2006 the

residents of Hendersonville were hit with the power

of what  was later classified as an "F-3" tornado. 

This tornado caused 8  fatalities in our county;

however, fortunately none of these were in the

City of Hendersonville. 

We received much needed help from several 

surrounding agencies and maintained a

presence in the affected areas for more than a week. 

We would like to thank those agencies that provided

assistance and a special "thank you" to the citizens

of Hendersonville who rallied around those who

were in need with shelter, donations, and clean-up efforts.
