Dive Team Assists Hendersonville Utility District

In late October, the Hendersonville Fire Department Dive Team

assisted the Hendersonville Utility District by inspecting

their main water intake in Old Hickory Lake.  T

his involved actually locating the intake

in approximately 20 feet of  water and marking its location. 

The intake and screen was inspected

to assure that it was secure. 

They also photographed and video taped

their inspection for submission to the State. 

This exercise also gave the dive team the

opportunity to test some new underwater communications

equipment which the department hopes to be able

to acquire in the future.
