Captain Ronnie Wyatt

Why did you join the Hendersonville Fire Department?
I joined the Hendersonville Fire Department in 1975 with the hopes of making
firefighting my life long career. I achieved my goal and with much
satisfaction have been doing this for the last 30 years.
What do you like most about the Hendersonville Fire Department?
What I like most about the HFD is definitely my working relationship with
all the city employees. The appreciation and respect we have for each other
makes coming to work worth while. I also enjoy being a part of such a
wonderful community and working with the Hendersonville Fire
Department has given me not only satisfaction, but an appreciation
of really helping others in their time of need.
What is the most significant development in your career?
I’ll have to say that throughout my career the most significant development
would have to be putting the “Learn not to Burn” in the school system.
This in itself is very rewarding knowing that we are teaching kids about Fire Safety.
What are your future plans?
I don’t expect any changes in my life or career any time soon, so I
will continue to be a firefighter and stay actively involved in
community affairs. On my days off, I am very involved with
training dogs and will continue to do this for a long time to come.
