Firefighter Randy Compton

Why did you join the Hendersonville Fire Department?

       I have always had a desire to help others. 

I feel working in the fire service for your community

is the perfect way to help others in their time of need.

What do you like most about the Hendersonville Fire Department?

The lifelong friendships that I have developed by working,

living and serving with my fellow firefighters. 

Also the joy and excitement I see on children’s faces

when we teach them fire safety and they get to see

the Hendersonville Fire Engines up close.

What is the most significant development in your career?

The advanced technology in our fire gear such as

greater safety, improved mobility and lighter weight.

Any community activities?

Being involved and staying active in my church. 

I have also coached soccer when my boys were younger.

  What are your future plans?

Continue to serve the wonderful Hendersonville

community to the best of my ability and to advance

in my career within the department.

Tell us about your family

I have a wonderful wife of 26 years, Jodie. 

I have 2 great sons whom I am very proud of,

Broc who is 21 years old and Blake who is 18.
