The Pump: - This pump is used to either boost the pressure of water from a hydrant, pump water from the engine's 1000 gallon tank or draft water from a pool or lake. The pump can control water output from each of its outlets and intake water through several intakes. A pressure relief valve (the small wheel top left) is used to insure that pressure is stabile. Water pressure, oil pressure and engine rpm gadgets can be read from the pump. Formulas are used to determine gpm and pressure loss. All pump operations are controlled from this pump panel.
The pump operator has a very important job. He must maintain a good water pressure to insure the safety of the personal inside the fire building.
