Chief Steele Celebrates 30 Years
with the Hendersonville Fire Department
On January 7, 1976, Chief Jamie H. Steele began his career with the
Hendersonville Fire Department. At that time the Fire Chief was Carl Moore
and the department averaged less than 200 calls per year. There were only twenty paid
men and 15 volunteers. When asked about his long career, the Chief said
"It has been an honor to be a part of such a great department. I'm grateful to God
for placing the desire in my heart to serve and thank the City of Hendersonville
for the opportunity to serve."
